The Kenneth Rainin Foundation has selected 100 Days Action in partnership with CCA’s Exhibitions and Public Programming to develop a full proposal for our project, “The People’s Oval Office.”

This project was started during the 2018 midterm elections at our residency at CCA’s Hubbel Street Galleries. The piece is a full scale replica of the office of the President made entirely from cardboard. Viewers are invited to sit at the desk of the President and sign an Executive Order—one idea that could at this very moment benefit our country.

During the midterms we traveled the Oval Office to Modesto, California, working with the social justice non-profit Mi Familia Vota to register new voters (more on the 2018 iteration here). In expanding this project, we’re seeking funding to make a more mobile version that can be transported in a trailer, give out copies of every Executive Order that is written, and present the Executive Orders on site.

I made this series of renderings to submit alongside our proposal. Results will be posted in November, and hopefully you’ll be seeing us across the Bay in 2020!
